Hobnail is celebrating 21 years together and for the occasion they have recorded a brand new album, ‘String Things’.
Hobnail’s ‘String Things’ is a collection of traditional folks songs – ‘Like a hurricane’ N Young and ‘A girl called Johnny’ M Scott, mixed with their own great hits – ‘Where the wild things are’ R Joass, ‘Pot of Gold’ R Joass (such a beautiful melody!) and ‘Good night’ R Joass.
The album was initially recorded at The Surgery by Andrew Downes with an array of outstanding musicians – Wayne Mason, Alan Norman, Kim Bonnington, Cameron Burnell and Janeck Croydon. The album features piano, accordian, mandolin, fiddle and mixed beautifully by Rob Joass himself. It really feels like a celebration of many years playing music together. On this tour you ll see 4 band members, Rob Joass, Jo Moir, Hamish Graham and Caroline Easther – two of which have been playing together since the start.
Last year, about the same time, Rob brought Hardcore Troubadours to Vegas City Limits and we enjoyed a night of outstanding musicianship. A guarantee that next Saturday will be the same! Some of you might have seen Rob perform when he toured with Too Many Chiefs and played at Shambles Theater Rotorua. Great song writer and great musician.
The Rogue Stage is adding to the celebration by releasing the first 40 tickets at $20 each, thereafter tickets will be sold at the normal price of $25. OAP and Students are $12 and under 12’s free.
