Saturday 13th June – music starts 8pm – cost $15 pre booked/$20 turn up
Anthonie Tonnon released his third album Successor (Canape King Records/Southbound) in March 2015 and did an extensive 14 day nationwide tour. The Rogue Stage had a date then, but March was a tricky month and we decided to postpone it to this coming Saturday. “A quiet night in” is not what we attend to have on Saturday. You are invited to this very rare and intimate occasion, as long as you book your seat beforehand (pretty please – it helps with knowing how many people to prepare food for). We have 30 seats available. It’s BYO and we contribute a vegetarian meal to share. (email firstname.lastname@example.org or text/phone 02102381057)
Since March, Successor has received notable reviews, NZ Herald gave it 5 stars and you can read the full review by following this link – NZ Herald (see full review here). Lydia Jenkins points out “(Successor) is still one of the most memorable albums you’ll hear this year.” and “‘Tonnon has successfully turned his fascinations with the stories of others into masterful musical miniatures… It’s rare to hear an album so singular, and yet so engaging.” Following on from his outstanding reviews. he also opened for legendary Australian musician, Paul Kelly, at his recent show in Auckland at the Powerstation. As a solo NZ artist, Anthonie is certainly carving a niche with his style and I am super honoured to present his concert at our humble home.
